What is 'Come as Yourself Day'
Come as Yourself Day is an annual event where schools, businesses and workplaces register to take a stand against bullying across Australia. The initiative was started by Jackson Walasek and co-founded by Charli Hallett in 2016.
The idea behind the event is to remove or upscale 'uniform' for a day to let each individual express themselves as best as possible. The idea sprouted from Transgender youths wanting to wear dressed as their school uniform but feeling uncomfortable to do so.
The original event was held at Salisbury High School, with over 1000 participants and $300 raised for charity. The idea is to grow the support and initiative in 2017, hopefully gaining some media attention.
Our aim is to have most schools participating in the nation wide event by 2020.

Something needs to be done! We believe having a strong educational focus on people through their schooling and working life will play apart in this movement.
We aim to provide the resources for participants to be able to,
- Educate others on social issues.
- Educate others everyone is human and should be treated equal.
- Open others eyes about the uniqueness and individuality of themselves.
